Project Seagrass: Super Seagrass in the Solent
Project Seagrass is a British and International charity formed to conserve and restore seagrass globally. Seagrass is rapidly declining from our coastlines, where once lush meadows covered much of the UK coastline many of our seagrass habitats are now sparse and fragmented. At Project Seagrass we are working towards restoring, protecting, and conserving the seagrass meadows remaining around the UK coastline as well as being committed to wide-scale restoration projects; in the Solent alone we are restoring 3ha of former seagrass habitat.
Join Project Seagrass at SOTSEF to discover more about seagrass habitats and the work Project Seagrass is doing to protect them in and around The Solent and Isle of Wight. Join us and learn how you can make your own mark on Solent seagrass restoration by helping us collect seagrass fragments and recording your seagrass findings next time you are at the coast.
