Electric vehicles are widely touted as a potential solution to the climate catastrophe, promising to make our transportation system cleaner by eliminating tailpipe emissions. But recent months have seen a slow-down in the sales of new electric vehicles and government targets for high-speed public charging stations are not being met. At the same time, there are questions about the hidden environmental costs of electric vehicles, their safety and whether our electricity grid could even cope with the widespread adoption of this new technology.
