Plastic plants and better beans for the future of UK food
Age suitable for: All ages
Over the next decades, humans will need to grow more food on less land, under a warming climate, and these are significant and inter-related problems. You will come and learn more about the future of food in the UK, from the crops we might grow, to the battles they will face, and how these crops cope with extreme weather.
Come and see what some of the species look like and learn about their nutrients and how they tolerate climate change. You will also observe how plants have a tremendous ability to respond very quickly to changes in temperature and rainfall, and have the opportunity to take home an experiment to carry out.
