IMAGE COPYRIGHT Visit the Teddy Bear Hospital!
Your teddy becomes a patient for the day, and you help look after them with the support of friendly student nurses. You can listen to your teddy's heartbeat, give them a bandage, help give medicine, and learn what happens when someone goes to hospital - all through play.
You can ask questions, try safe medical equipment, and find out how nurses help people feel better and stay healthy. The activities are gentle, playful and designed to help children feel confident and relaxed about healthcare. Everyone's teddy bear will also go home with a certificate of health from the hospital!
Teddy Bear Hospital is especially helpful for children who feel unsure or nervous about hospitals, but it is fun and welcoming for everyone. Parents and carers are encouraged to join in too. The activity is run by student nurses from the University of Southampton and is suitable for children and families of all ages. It is interactive and designed to make learning about health feel safe and enjoyable.
