Join University of Southampton nursing students for an interactive session demonstrating basic life support (BLS) skills using professional training manikins. This hands‑on activity offers a practical introduction to cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and highlights how prompt action can help save lives in emergency situations.
Guided by Southampton nursing students, visitors will see how CPR is performed and learn when and why basic life support is needed. Attendees will have the opportunity to ask questions, build confidence, and gain a better understanding of how to respond if someone collapses or stops breathing. No previous knowledge or experience is required.
The session is suitable for a wide audience and is delivered in a supportive, informal environment. It aims to increase awareness of simple life‑saving techniques while also providing insight into nursing education and the skills nurses develop during their training. This activity helps demystify emergency care and encourages people to feel more prepared to act in real‑life situations. It also provides an opportunity to meet student nurses and learn more about their role in healthcare!
