Why is keeping healthy so tough for some people, but easy for others? And why is it that the so-called 'non-communicable' diseases like cardiovascular disease and diabetes still account for about 75% of deaths around the world, despite all the efforts of doctors and health care systems? ... Is something missing?

Some of the answers lie in how bodies are put together during our first 1000 days, from conception until age two. This affects how people will respond to the world we they live in - from daily stresses and strains, food, quality of sleep, to exercise.

Play a game of Giant Kerplunk! or sit down and join a craft-based 'Build a baby Workshop': discover some surprising facts about the way the unborn baby is growing inside the mother's womb and how this can be affected by signals from the world around it.

Exchange ideas with scientists from the Faculty of Medicine about these 'secrets' of early development which could empower everyone to give the next generation the gift of a good start to life and future health.
